Slip and Slide party

Well since we moved on campus we had to get rid of our pool. So instead we now have a slip and slide. The first day we broke it out the kids decided to go around and invite some of their friends over to play. At first Sabrina would just run down and plop into the pool at the end. By the end of the day she was almost a pro. Jonathan flew from the beginning. Here are some pics.

Question Jar #1

Clever Title Huh?

Describe your Sunday.

Well I have two types of Sundays.

Type 1: With the Kids

I wake up between 6:30 and 7:00 to start to get ready. I'll go turn on the oven to start the sticky rolls so they are cooled off by the time the kids get home. At 7:45 I'll leave to go pick up the kids at the meeting point. (Currently in the parking lot of the police station) Then we head home. The kids will come inside, take their things upstairs and get some breakfast. Then we all get our church clothes on and walk to church. After church we have a sandwich and a nap/rest time. Sunday nights we make sure to do a family activity. Dinner as a family and then a puzzle, game or reading.

Type 2: Without the Kids

I wake up about the same time. Get Tim up about 8:30 so he can get ready for work at 9. I will either drop him off and head straight to church (starts at 9:30) or he'll drive and I'll walk. I get home from church and have a salad and start dinner for that night. Tim gets home after 5 and we have dinner and then go to visit our godchild Ember.

As of right now at Church I play the piano for Relief Society and am the assistant Organist.

Update since May

Well so much for trying to get a post up at least once a month. Things here have been pretty hectic. We had some family fun in June with a visit from Nana (Joyce's Mom). She stayed for a little over a week and got to play and rest. We really loved seeing her and the kids still talk about when Nana was here.

Joyce has been busy working for the Mystique Theatre as a costumer. This local dinner theatre just opened a production of Aladdin. She is absolutely loving her job and can't wait to start working on costumes for Thoroughly Modern Millie. She will also be assistant designer to a least one show at ISU this year and designer for Omar & Victor's Dance performances. Busy, Busy but loving it.

Tim is still working with what he loves - computers - at ISU. He will be going back to school this fall as well. We are doing fun stuff together like bike riding, baseball, and the slip-n-slide with the kids. Poor guy has to cover shifts for people that are on vacation and has slept through half of the summer to work graveyards. However for this "vampire" that's the best shift for him.

Jonathan and Sabrina both decided to play baseball & T-ball this year. Poor Sabrina realized at her 2nd game that she just didn't like it. Mommy convinced her to stay in and just try as hard as she could and she could do something different next year. Well she did and found out that she is pretty good and likes it. (We'll see if she does it again next year). Jonathan had his first year of underhand pitch and is starting to get some power with his bats. That boy can still run (but I think Sabrina just may pass him one day)

All in All our family is doing good. We still have our ups and downs, but we hang in there. Hope this message finds you all happy and healthy.
